Building Confident Teachers. Creating Meaningful Growth.
Supporting students with disabilities requires more than compliance—it requires confidence, clarity, and intentional instructional practice. To meet that need, we’re excited to launch the Get READY Special Education Teacher Development Series, created specifically to support special education teachers who are actively working in classrooms while simultaneously completing coursework toward certification.
READY stands for “Resources And Education Development for You,” emphasizing that this series was intentionally designed to meet teachers where they are, providing practical knowledge, real support, and meaningful tools they can immediately apply in their work.
This program was thoughtfully developed by Denver Phillips, Special Education Teacher Consultant and Post-Secondary Transition Coordinator, and Beck Biller, Special Education Coordinator and Monitor, in response to the growing need to provide real-time guidance and instructional grounding for teachers entering the field while balancing classroom responsibilities and certification programs.
This unique professional learning experience is designed to strengthen knowledge, build capacity, and provide meaningful guidance during one of the most important and demanding times in an educator’s career. The Get READY series helps teachers identify authentic student needs, develop measurable and instructionally relevant goals, and understand how data connects to meaningful student growth.
Throughout the series, each participant is building a personalized binder of meaningful resources, tools, templates, and guidance they can continue to use long after the sessions conclude. Learning is highly interactive, with engaging activities that not only reinforce key concepts but also model high-quality instruction, effective teaching strategies, collaboration, and problem-solving practices. Participants experience learning the same way we want students to experience learning—active, relevant, and supported.
Rather than centering solely on compliance, Get READY reframes special education through the lens of student progress, instructional impact, and purposeful programming. Educators explore mindset, the power of well-written IEPs, and how to align services to truly meet student needs.
Ultimately, the goal is simple: to help teachers feel prepared, confident, supported, and inspired as they grow into their roles. When educators are empowered with strong knowledge and purposeful practices, students benefit—gaining clearer expectations, better instruction, and more opportunities to succeed.
We’re proud of the dedication of our educators and excited to support them on this journey. Stay tuned for highlights and continued learning ahead!
