At the heart of the ISD General Education team is a simple belief: when we support educators, we support students. Our team is committed to partnering with local districts, listening to their needs, sharing expertise and creating opportunities for educators to learn and grow together. From classrooms and professional learning sessions to conversations with school leaders and families, our team brings a combination of knowledge, collaboration and a genuine desire to help schools thrive.

Jason Lundin, Assistant Superintendent of General Education, provides leadership for the department and works closely with district and school leaders to support their goals and priorities. Jason brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to leadership and is always looking for ways to connect people, ideas and resources to move the work forward. Kim Rinehart, General Education Coordinator, helps connect the many pieces of the department's work, coordinating initiatives, supporting professional learning and collaborating with educators and administrators across our districts. Kim brings energy, creativity and a relationship-first mindset to her work, helping turn big ideas into meaningful opportunities for educators and schools.

Much of the team's work happens alongside educators in classrooms and professional learning spaces. Shannon Fuller, Early Literacy Coach/Coaching Coordinator, leads and coordinates early literacy coaching efforts, helping educators strengthen instruction and build a strong foundation for young readers. Shannon brings enthusiasm, encouragement and a passion for helping educators discover what is possible in their classrooms. Valerie Puffer, Early Literacy Coach, partners with educators to reflect on practice, explore effective literacy strategies and support meaningful learning experiences for students. Valerie brings a calm, thoughtful presence and a gift for making collaboration feel comfortable, practical and purposeful. Tom Ouwinga, Math Specialist, brings his expertise and enthusiasm for mathematics to districts, working with educators to deepen their understanding of math instruction and help students become confident, capable mathematicians. Tom brings curiosity, problem-solving and a love of helping others see the possibilities in mathematics.

Rounding out the team are Jim Piwowar, School Attendance Officer/Court Liaison, and Devin Wegner, General Education Administrative Assistant. Jim works with schools and families to address attendance challenges and help students stay connected to school, bringing a compassionate, solution-focused approach to what can sometimes be difficult conversations. Devin provides the organization, coordination and day-to-day support that helps the entire department run smoothly, bringing a positive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed. While each team member has a different role, we are united by the same purpose: building relationships, supporting educators and helping every learner reach their full potential.
